The NIMC Personal Mobile App is a Mobile application developed by NIMC which enables every Nigerian with a valid National Identification Number (NIN) to generate their virtual NIN, UserID, among other functionalities.
The following steps will guide you as an individual with a valid NIN on how to download the NIMC Personal Mobile App and register yourself.
Step 1: Download the NIMC App from either the App Store (for iPhone device users) or the Playstore (for Android device users).
Step 2: Open the NIMC App after downloading it to your mobile device, and click on "Get Started" to start the self registration.
Step 3: Read through the "Attestation" and accept to continue or disagree to discontinue.
Step 4: Enter your 11 digit NIN in the field below. If your NIN is valid, you will be shown the masked phone number that is currently tied to your NIN you entered.
Step 5: Confirm that you still use the mobile number by selecting the highlighted option "I still use this number". If you wish to use another number then select the second option "I want to use another number".
Step 6: After you have selected the option "I still use this number" in step 5, a One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the same phone number as SMS.
Step 7: Enter the OTP in the boxes provided as shown below, and select "Next".
Step 8: Allow the app to synchronize your NIN information. If the synchronization is successful you will be shown the notification "Congratulation" on your phone.
Step 9: Click on "Proceed to PIN" to setup your PIN. This is the PIN that you will be using to access the NIMC Mobile App.
Step 10: Setup you PIN (must be 6 digit) by entering your PIN of your choosing. Afterwards the App will require you to enter the PIN again for reconfirmation.
Step 11: Finally, after setting up your PIN successfully, you will be show a welcome page to enter your PIN to finally access your NIN profile.
